Cloud Computing
There is a famous quote, “Change is the only constant”. A key aspect of organizations that helps businesses grow is their ability to adapt to change constantly. The big data era has led to many of businesses adhering to cloud computing. This is because the easiest way for SMEs to adapt to current trends is by opting for cloud systems. Many businesses do adapt to other attributes of industry 4.0 as well, but it is comparatively easier to opt for cloud computing.
There are many benefits of cloud computing, the following few demonstrate the areas that heavily impact SME’s:
1) Cost efficient
Many software versions or programs indicate payments for possible services that won’t be used. For instance, if you purchase software X, you may have to pay for services A, B and C when all you want is service B. However, that is not the case for cloud systems as you only pay for the service you want.
2) Security
Cloud hosting ensures security of personal, sensitive and corporate data.
3) Simple collaboration
If you have more than one employee, it will be easier for them to share data and collaborate with cloud systems.
4) Flexibility and mobility
Compared to local servers, cloud systems have more flexibility and capacity to meet demands swiftly. It also ensures mobility as cloud systems can be installed in laptops, smart devices, tabs, etc. This way no employee or client has to stay out of the loop due to their busy schedule or distance.
5) Global functioning
Another great feature of cloud computing is that it enables easiness for people to work around the globe. All people need is an internet connection to access files on cloud and to work on the system.
6) Availability
Most applications, systems and files are available for people to access anytime anywhere. Also, this system can work offline as well.
7) Competitive advantage
Nowadays it is a necessity for businesses to adapt to cloud computing, although there are some organizations that adhere to local or traditional methods. This way businesses that have opted for cloud systems have a competitive edge against those who haven’t.
The level of efficiency and easiness certainly increases as businesses adapt to Cloud Computing!
What do you think? Have you adapted to the cloud systems yet? Or do you use local and traditional methods? What are your thoughts about cloud computing?
